Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Submitting an Abstract

Submitter (user)

To submit online, you will need to set yourself up as a User. Once set up, you can submit numerous abstracts via your Profile.

It is the responsibility of the Submitter (User) to pass on any relevant information regarding the Conference to the other authors and ensure that all authors approve the submission and presentation.

The online system will guide you through the required information (click here hyperlink)

Presenting Author

The online system will ask you to confirm the Presenting Author. All presentations (oral or poster) must be made by a listed author who has been directly involved in the project. All Presenting Authors must register (and pay) to attend the Conference. Rule of two applies here

Scientific Track

The online system will prompt you to select the most appropriate scientific tract for your submission from this list below:

  • Clinical and prevention research
  • Nursing and Midwifery workforce
  • Quality improvement and implementation science
  • Emerging epidemics and pandemics
  • Socioeconomic and behavioral research
  • Political research, law, policy and human rights

These categories will be used for reviewing and scheduling purposes

Abstract Format Guidelines

Abstracts must use the following outline (with the exception of case reports):

Results

Conclusion

For case reports, ONLY use the following section headings:

Introduction

Case Summary

Conclusion

 

For all abstracts:

The abstract should be 250-300 words. This count excludes the abstract title, authors, and their designations.

Format

Font Type: Times New Roman

Line Space: Single

Font size: 12

Keywords: Maximum 6

Uploads

You are allowed to upload one word or jpeg file to accompany your text.

Disclosures

Funding sources or other acknowledgments should be declared, and conflict of Interest, where prompted under “Disclosures to declare”

Information to note

The decision of the reviewers on the acceptability of the submission is final.

While preferences for oral or poster presentations will be considered, the reviewers may offer an alternative format. No correspondence on their decision can be initiated by the author(s) or submitter.

ALL PRESENTING AUTHORS MUST REGISTER AS DELEGATES WITHOUT EXCEPTION, and the submission of the abstract serves as a confirmation of the presenter’s availability to attend and pay for being at the Conference.

All abstracts will be acknowledged via the online system. If you have not received a confirmation within seven days of your submission, please contact the Scientific commitee Secretariat at ( scientificsongnwhoccnm@ub.ac.bw)

The 14th Biennial GNWHOCCNM 2022 conference  reviewers reserve the right to accept or refuse an abstract, to designate abstracts as either oral or poster presentations, and to choose a suitable session for the abstract.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Declaration of Consent to Publication and Assignation of Copyright:

    By submitting an abstract, the authors collectively accept the following:

    I confirm that I checked  this abstract before submission and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission, and I am aware that it will be published as submitted. Submission of the abstract constitutes my consent for publication (e.g., conference website, programs, other promotions, etc.) The Abstract Submitter warrants and represents that he/she is the sole owner or has the rights of all the information and content (“Content”) provided to University of Botswana and GNWHOCCNM 2022 conference  (Hereafter: “The Organisers”). The publication of the abstract does not infringe any third-party rights, including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights. The Abstract Submitter grants the Organisers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content. The Organisers reserve the right to remove any abstract which does not comply with the set guidelines. The corresponding author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.

  2. Format

    Keywords: Maximum 6

    All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  3. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Conference.
 

Copyright Notice

Authors who submit to this conference agree to the following terms:
a) Authors retain copyright over their work, while allowing the conference to place this unpublished work under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to freely access, use, and share the work, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and its initial presentation at this conference.
b) Authors are able to waive the terms of the CC license and enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution and subsequent publication of this work (e.g., publish a revised version in a journal, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial presentation at this conference.
c) In addition, authors are encouraged to post and share their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) at any point before and after the conference.
